Stay beside a beautiful bay on the Isle of Mull

The Steadings

The Steadings at Tiroran is situated in an elevated position with fabulous southerly coastal views around the north shores of Loch Scridain.

It is understood to date back to the 18th century. But now The Steadings has been beautifully refurbished to a high standard.

There’s parking on site, with open views across the surrounding countryside and Loch Scridain. Also it has easy access to walking tracks from the property. So you can set off and explore the island straight from your doorstep.

The Steadings has oil-fired central heating throughout and is on two storeys as follows:

Ground floor at The Steadings

Sitting Room:  This very spacious, double height sitting room is bathed in natural light from the inner courtyard. It’s a delightful space to relax, and it has a wood burning stove. So you can enjoy cosy nights in during the colder months. Whilst at warmer times, sit outside and enjoy the stunning views over Loch Scridain as you sip a nice glass of wine. The Steadings provides the ideal living space to spend time with friends or family. Whatever the weather may bring!

The sitting room leads into a separate dining hallway for more formal mealtimes. It also leads onto a well-equipped large kitchen / diner area, with a long breakfast bar. So you and your group can sit and socialise whilst someone prepares the food, or maybe you’ll choose this area to stop and enjoy a wee snack.  There is no shortage of living space in this lovely home. It’s got the perfect layout to either gather together or spend some time apart for a quiet a time, if desired.

Our ground floor Double bedroom has a stunning view out to the gardens and over the bay.  This room also has a good sized ensuite bathroom, complete with a shower over bath.

First floor at The Steadings

Reached by a spiral staircase, the mezzanine has a study area, and leads to the Principal bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. It is very generous in size, again with stunning views out across the surrounding countryside.

The Steadings has a unique rural location, and can offer you privacy without feeling too isolated.

Explore the Isle of Mull

Tiroran is beautifully situated on the Kilfinichen Estate. It lies to the west of Ben More, on the western side of Mull.

This part of the world is home to a stunning array of wildlife. You might see golden and white-tailed eagles, otters, red deer and wild goats during your time here. Also much of the surrounding land is traditionally farmed here. So you’ll see both sheep and cattle roaming the hills.

You’ll have easy access to tracks to explore straight from the door of your holiday accommodation. Maybe you’ll take on the challenging walk from Tiroran. Venture along the remote western tip of the Ardmeanach Peninsula of Mull, over to Burg and the Fossil tree. It’s worth it! You will be rewarded with some of the most dramatic coastal scenery the island has to offer.
